iLOQ S50
Utility providers, such as power production and distribution companies, telecom network services, data centers, water treatment plants, property services and transportation services, regularly face the challenge of simultaneously managing numerous sites and vast numbers of locks. A huge number of keys are in constant circulation.
With iLOQ S50, a smartphone is the key. Access rights to all locks can be remotely shared and multiple sites can be conveniently consolidated into one user-friendly and secure cloud-based software platform, saving resources and simplifying access management.

iLOQ S50 eliminates costs associated with lost keys and lock replacements, battery replacements and blocked keyways to help utilities focus their resources on core business development. Streamlining logistics and putting an end to unnecessary travel related to site management, ensures significant savings over the solution’s lifecycle.

Access management is an important, but not the only, aspect of modern building management. Today’s buildings comprise a complex ecosystem of various specialised functions such as burglar alarms or HVAC systems. iLOQ 5 Series offers an open application programming interface (API) that enables integration to virtually any system. This helps improve customers’ flexibility and operational efficiency by sharing data between the different information systems they use.
Description of the iLOQ S50 Systems
i-LOQ S50 is the first wireless, key-free electronic locking system in the world, that does not require a battery in the cylinder.
- No batteries in the lock
- Key-free: the key is the NFC Either Android or iOS.
- Easy - No wiring needed.
- Real time Audit Trail
- Remote, real-time access rights granted or revoked over-the network.
- Secure and AES 256 encryption.
- iLOQ cylinders, padlocks and cam locks are bult to withstands harsh environments. From -40 ºC to + 70ºC.
- No keyway in cylinder required as credential communicates using NFC. No cylinder maintenance required.
- Locks can be configured to be opened with or without a network.
- Scalable capacity: Keys 2,000,000 / Locks 1,000,000 / People Unlimited
- Easy to use with software wizards to guide users through tasks.
- Management software on the cloud as no investments needed in dedicated servers or external software.
- Green: environmentally friendly.
iLOQ Manager includes powerful reporting tools, however, if more extensive data mining or analysis is needed the API tools can be used to export data from iLOQ Manager to other BI software such as Excel, Crystal, Yellow Fin, Power BI etc.
Principal Benefits of iLOQ S50 v Mechanical Cylinders & Keys

Comment |
|
Ease of deployment |
|
|
iLOQ S50 is easier to deploy and manage as physical credentials such as keys are not required. The credential is sent to a mobile device as a secure SMS message or email. |
|
Maintenance / Weather Proofing |
|
|
iLOQ S50 cylinders require no maintenance as there is no keyway. This reduces the chances of ingression of debris which may damage the lock mechanism and increases its reliability in the harshest of environments. |
|
Change of Keyholder Access or Lost Key |
|
|
iLOQ S50 credentials are updated seamlessly via SMS text and do not require intervention or any action from the operative. The credential always holds the most current access profile, time schedule and validity period. Mechanical locks need to be changed to regain security when keys are lost. |
|
Real Time Validation |
|
|
Although not always required iLOQ S50 cylinders can individually be set to require 'Real Time' validation of the credential before allowing access. This is not possible with mechanical locks and keys. |
|
Real Time Event Reporting |
|
|
iLOQ S50 credentials report all operations of the cylinder in 'Real Time' whereas Mechatronic keys only updated audit events when the operative updates the key via the App. |
|
Ease of supply |
|
|
iLOQ S50 cylinders are built unassigned to any system as enrolment is done through iLOQ Manager which then bonds the cylinder to the system. Mechanical cylinders need to be built to specific systems which extends delivery times. |
|
Repurposing |
|
|
iLOQ cylinders can be reprogrammed to allow them to be relocated to another area of the building or location. The cylinder can be 'factory reset' removing all access profiles and keys. Once a mechanical cylinder is 'master keyed' it can not be repurposed in this way. |

Europrofile cylinder
Battery-free Europrofile lock cylinders.

Oval lock cylinder
Battery-free Oval standard lock cylinders.

Key tube lock cylinder
Battery-free key tube cylinders.

Cam lock
Battery-free programmable electromechanical Cam locks.

Padlock
Battery-free padlocks with NFC reader (available in several EN grades and shackle sizes).

iLOQ Key Fob
The iLOQ Key Fob is an easy alternative for users without a compatible phone. Access rights can be updated through a phone via Bluetooth. The iLOQ Key Fob is equipped with a USB rechargeable accumulator.

Programming Token
The Token secures system administration for programming locks and keys.

iLOQ S50 App and iLOQ Fob App
The iLOQ S50 App and iLOQ Fob App receive access rights instantly and remotely. When not in use, the apps lie dormant in the background not affecting the phone’s battery life.
At iLOQ, we measure our success on how well our customers succeed. With this in mind, we have developed a wide range of digital services and software solutions that strengthen security and maximise accessibility while minimising risks and reducing OPEX.
In the critical infrastructure industry, it’s vital to ensure only the right people have access to the right sites at the right times. With hundreds of service personnel, numerous sites (often in remote locations) and potentially thousands of keys in circulation, managing access rights could be a nightmare.
iLOQ’s cloud-based software platform has been designed to enable advanced and yet fast and simple multisite programming, administration and management of access rights.
iLOQ’s powerful data encryption methods ensure high system security, while the simplicity and ease of use of the platform drive down administration time and costs.
We’re here to challenge that opinion. Here are just some of the benefits:
Scalability: A cloud-based solution is infinitely more scalable. You can usually increase the number of users or storage capacity with a click.
Reduced investment: There’s no need to invest in servers or additional hardware or plan and prepare for updates.
Automatic upgrades: Avoid the cost and inconvenience of traditional server upgrades.
ISO/IEC 27001: iLOQ has been awarded ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management certification, which reassures customers that their information assets are secure.
Data backups: These are done frequently and are all stored securely (physically and from a cyber-security aspect).
Fail-over: If, for whatever reason, a site goes down, then another site or sites are available to take over. You’ll experience no downtime in service.
Outsourced IT: Reduce costs by eliminating the need for an in-house team of technicians to take care of maintenance, updates and backups as well as constant monitoring of technical issues and fixing them.
Encryption: Encrypted cloud storage platforms add another layer of security. The security industry has invested heavily in technologies and processes to protect cloud servers.
Redundancy: If a server goes down, due to hardware failure or a loss of AC, it is automatically detected and another server kicks in. There’s no impact on your business due to downtime. All iLOQ servers are located in the EU.
